Windows 8 Release Preview Download Date

Windows 8 Release Preview download date is near.

Microsoft will put at our disposal Windows 8 Release Preview, in June, 2012. This is the last test version of the already popular OS, before its official release.

This announcement has been done by Steve Sinofsky, which is the Microsoft President, at a press conference in Japan. The event was dedicated to applications developers for Windows 8. The Release Preview is scheduled in the first week of June, according to CNET.

Windows 8 Release Preview should be a very similar version to the one which the Redmond based company will officially deliver on the market this fall.

Windows 8 Consumer Preview was the second beta version of this operating system and it has been released on 29^th of February and it has gained a lot of success: over one million copies have been downloaded in the first 24 hours since Microsoft shared it on its servers.

Praised by the President of the company as ‘the most capable operating system which has ever been released’, Windows 8 has been scheduled for release in October, this year.

Windows 8 Release Preview can be installed on PC computers, as well on tablets. That’s because Microsoft plans to deliver on the market no less than 32 tablets which will be powered by the new Windows 8.

As described in other articles on onebiTzero, the new operating system from Microsoft will be delivered in three main versions. Windows 8 will replace the popular Home Edition and it will target, obviously, the common PC users. Windows 8 Pro comes to replace the Enterprise editions which have become popular when Windows 7 has been released. And we will also receive Windows RT, which in fact, is just another version of this new operating system, but it has been designed in order to run on ARM powered devices (tablets).

For the moment, there is no information on what kind of features will be delivered in Windows 8 Release Preview. We are thinking that it will target mainly the desktop users, as Consumer Preview already did.
