I know it is hard to believe, but it looks like we finally have un unlock solution for our iDevices. Furthermore, it comes from a person which is not affiliated with any Dev Team. Someone close to the developer of the SAM application has managed to create an unlock method which works on iPhone devices and it is quite simple to apply. MuscleNErd has confirmed that they have managed to unlock an iPhone 4S, so, at least theoretically, it works very well.
Unlock any iPhone baseband running on iOS 5
For the moment, this procedure works only on iOS 5.0, 5.0.1 and iOS 5.1. However MuscleNerd says that, in the future, we should be able to use it without any problems, no matter if Apple will try to clock it. Everything starts from a ticket which SAM is saving and which we will be using on an undetermined period, according to Muscle Nerd. The same group says that this procedure is not affected by iTunes, so you will receive here an untethered jailbreak, too.
For the moment we have just a few confirmations on the fact that this unlock solution is working on iPhone devices. For some it is even hard to believe that it really exists. However, it can be tested on an iPhone on which you use Gevey or Ultrasn0w.
It is important to note the fact that this iPhone unlock procedure is working with any other baseband, BUT it can be done just on one SIM card. Therefore, if you are using multiple SIMs, you have to repeat this unlock procedure on each of them.
