The company behind the Apple iPhone 4S technology wizard, Siri, just introduced at CES 2012 the implementation of Dragon Go! for Android – only available for U.S. users and only in English, at the moment.

This is a very comprehensive wizard that allows us to ask for the weather info at any given location, for news, direct search on different websites, like Amazon, CNN or Google, for images or maps, etc.

Dragon Go! is not compatible with Ice Cream Sandwich for now, only with Android 2.1 and above, but promises a similar experience that Siri offers on the iPhone. In fact, some users report that, at the time, search is more efficient with this application. On the other hand, Dragon Go! will not be able to to help you set alarms, make phone calls or send SMS with the help of your voice, because it is not part of the native Android app-system, it is a 3-rd party program. Siri was perfectly integrated in Apple’s iOS and performs all the above mentioned actions. Of course, comparisons with “Siri” will be inevitable but ultimately the ones who benefit most from these technologies are users.

As we’ve said, currently Dragon Go! or, as we like to call it, Siri for Android, is not available to users outside the United States but we recommend keeping an eye on the Android Market to know when will be available in your country.

For those of you who are not afraid to get their hands dirty and root their Android smartphones, there is a way yo install Dragon Go! (Siri for Android).

How to install Dragon Go! on your Android device if you’re not from the United States (Non-US users):

  1. Root you Android device using the methods you will find on onebitzero.com. Use our search bar (upper left side) and search for “how to root [name of your phone]“, e.g. “how to root samsung galaxy s”.
  2. Go to the Android Market place and install Market Enabler. This tool will hide your sim’s identity from the Market and give it a brand new US “citizenship”.
  3. When you open the program, make sure you choose USA T-Mobile.
  4. Launch Android Market and download Dragon Go! for Free.

That’s all you can now enjoy your personal Siri for Android, make sure you let us know your impressions in the below comments section.
