Samsung plans to launch a pink Galaxy S2 which will be available on the market by Valentine’s Day and an upgraded version of the same smartphone, in late February, the Samsung Galaxy S2 HD.

The Pink Samsung Galaxy S2 will be added to the classic colors of this smartphone: black and white. The South Korean company has announced the European market launch of this Galaxy model, which will be before Valentine’s Day, 14 February. Undoubtedly, Samsung aims to give a sales push to its star device, which has broken all sales records of the company since its launch about a year ago.

The Samsung Galaxy S2, with a thickness of only 8.49 mm, has many innovative technical features. In addition to its powerful dual-core processor and the 4.27 inch Super AMOLED screen, it offers HSPA network support and a 8.0 megapixel camera with AF and LED Flash, among other interesting features.

At the moment there is no confirmation if this color will be available all over Europe, although it appears that will be marketed throughout the old continent at the current price, in late January or early February.

But the Galaxy S2 in pink is not the only novelty of the South Korean company in the coming weeks.  A high resolution (HD) version of the Galaxy S2  could soon reach Europe, claims the British website ‘Mobicity’, which will have a “larger screen, higher resolution and more battery power.” It also seems to increase the operating frequency by using a 1.5 GHz processor.

This HD version of Galaxy S2 will most probably have the same screen size and resolution as the Samsung Galaxy Nexus (4.65 inches and a resolution of 720×1280 pixels) and the Samsung S2 Galaxy LTE 4G.

Remember that in September 2011, during the celebration of the IFA 2011 in Berlin, Samsung announced the Galaxy S2 LTE, which apparently will be very similar to HD. This version also has a larger screen (4.65-inch WVGA display with a resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels), dual core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, Super AMOLED Plus technology and support for NFC (Near Field Communication).

During the celebration of the Mobile World Congress to be held in late February in Barcelona, it is possible that the Galaxy S2 HD may be the “opening act” for the new “flagship” of 2012, the Samsung Galaxy S3.
