Pod2G announces that he has all the exploits which are necessary in order to develop new untethered iOS 5.1 jailbreak solutions.

A few weeks have passed since we have last heard any news from pod2g and its process of developing new untethered jailbreak solutions for iOS 5.1. However, today we have received some fresh information. It looks like pod2g and his team members have discovered all the necessary exploits in order develop new jailbreak solutions. They are currently working on removing the security measures removal. Obviously, these brakes have been implemented by Apple in the new iOS 5.1 in order to prevent (or to try to prevent) the untethered jailbreak methods.

Until now, two entities have announced that they posses exploits for accomplishing this much awaited process. i0n1c was even notifying us that his solution is ready but it looks like pod2g will save the iOS community, again.

For the moment there are no information which could suggest how much it will take to finalize this iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak solution.

Update: i0n1c Reaction on pod2g statement regarding untethered jailbreak solution form iOS 5.1

A short while after pod2g has announced that he posses the necessary exploits in order to create an iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak solution, i0n1c has reacted. He had published some tweets on Twitter in which he expresses his disagreement in which regards the free nature of the untethered jailbreak solutions. I0n1c says that those companies  which are designing encrypted/ secured software for different IT devices are making a big profit from selling these solutions.

In fact i0n1c doesn’t like the idea of release the iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak solution for free and says that’s exactly why he did not publish it yet. However, pod2g doesn’t agree with this idea, but things could change in the future. There are lot of people on the web which are selling the so-called jailbreak and unlock packages, which, in fact, are similar or identical with the solutions developed by people like pod2g and i0n1c. However, I personally consider that the donations could be an quite sufficient source of money, having in mind the big numbers of iDevices users which need an untethered jailbreak solution, especially for the new iOS 5.1. Also, I think that a price of $5-$10 would not be very much for such a solution, either.

It is hard to tell how things will evolve. I think there will appear many hackers which would start thinking like i0n1c and will ask more than donations in order to provide their untethered jailbreak solutions.
