Read It Later, a very popular iOS app was released some time ago for the Android platform but it failed to gain traction like its Apple iOS counterpart. This happened probably due to its not so great features and pricing, which were not on Android’s user base taste.

Fortunately though, the developers behind Read It Later decided to completely revamp the application and user experience, renaming it to Pocket and making it available for free on Android. Apparently, the reason behind this decision was the fact that users kept saving videos for viewing them later so the app’s name, Read It Later, was a bit off the mark.

If we are to believe the developers, Pocket Android app should now integrate with more than 300 apps (Twitter, Pulse, Zite and so on) for saving articles and viewing them later on your Android device.

Pocket Android App Lets You View Things Later & Offline

Here are the main features of Pocket Android app:

- New content Filter, which allows you to easily switch between your saved articles, videos or images
- A cleaner and simpler interface, without less toolbars for a better experience.
- You can now delete or add items to your favorites a lot more easily. Bulk editing is now present in Pocket Android app.
- Pocket comes with built in support for several Android devices like the Kindle Fire
- Improvements have also been made to the sync engine.

What’s great about Pocket is that it can now be used on your computer, tablet or smartphone as the below video demonstrates.

If you want to use Pocket, formerly known as Read It later, you should know that it’s available for download for Android on Google Play but also for the iOS platform on the App Store.
