Office 2012 New Features

Find out what if Office 2012 will provide us with new features and how they will affect our daily work.

Unfortunately, the common users will not have access to this version of the future Microsoft Office 2012 test version. The first images had shown us that the new software has a different interface. We had seen those pictures last year. Now Microsoft has announced that they have released the Technical Preview version for tests. They have also signed an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) with a group of testers. The agreement has the role to prevent the leaking of information regarding the new package.

An official from Microsoft says that the new Office 2012 is being considered the most ambitious project they have ever had, in the Office division. Unfortunately, other details have not been disclosed in which regards the suite. We will see this summer how the program will work. That’s because, at that time, Microsoft will release the new beta version for Office 2012.

It is supposed that the next suite of tools will provide new elements which are in trend with Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 Apollo. And we tend to believe these rumors because it is expected that the new OS from Microsoft, as well as Office 2012 should be also compatible with tablets, too.

P.J. Hough, CVP of Development at Microsoft has announced on the official Office 2012 blog that the testing process for the next version of the famous suite has already begun but it is available only for a small group of clients which are not allowed to provide any information on the new software.

Because of the fact that those which are testing now Office 2012 are obliged to prevent the leaking of any information on the new software, we will not have too many details on the popular package.

The officials from Microsoft look very optimistic when they talk about the new Office 2012 and the improvements that it brings. That’s happening even if they do not provide any detail on these facts.  We know that, together with the new edition of this program, the entire system will be modified. And that;s valid for clouding services, servers, mobile and PC clients for Office, Office 365, Exchange, Sharepoint, Lync, Project and Visio.

For those which are impatient in which regards the novelties that Office 2012 will bring on the market, we have some good news: this summer we will receive a public beta version of this package, which will include also the feedback from those which are currently testing it.

Not so long ago, on the Microsoft blog we have received some news about the newest creation of the company: Office 2012. It is name for the new generation of the Office package.

There haven’t been released to much details about the new Office 2012 but we can be sure that the new package will be the most valuable in the history of this kind of programs. For the first time, together with the Microsoft suite, we will see a series of updates on all the services and programs which work in connection with Office.

I hope that in the future we will have more information on this new product. It would be interesting to see also if the new Office 2012 is really an ambitious and original project.

Office 2012 New Features

I am saying this because it is a big difference between the current version of this suite and Office 365, for example. The web service is extremely useful and reliable. Also, web Apps and Skydrive are some services which convinced a lot of people to join because they provide a lot of things which are really necessary nowadays. But all this good things cannot really be said about the normal, PC package. It looks like it was left behind and Microsoft focused only on the web based applications. We can only hope that Office 2012 will change the things here.

As described in the above mentioned paragraphs, the new suite will feature the Windows 8 Metro Interface. And I consider that it is could be an advantage. Why not have a good interface on a tool which provides a lot of usefulness in our day by day tasks. However I wish one thing to be provided together with this new look: simplicity. Office 2012 needs to be as simple as possible because now we live in a world of speed, and we also have access to a lot of other applications, which can run on Windows or other operating systems. Also, we need efficient applications, too.

As described in the above mentioned paragraphs, Office 2012 has also some online alternatives, offered By Microsoft itself. It also has some online complementary services which can provide a great help in the daily activities. Also this suite provides a lot more other software in the installation suite, which could improve our work. The main problem is that, most of us, are using only three applications in the tasks we accomplish day by day: Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Therefore, I think that much simplicity would be offered by an Office 2012 version which will contain only these three tools. I know that most of us will pay for them even if there are some online alternatives for which you don’t have to spend any dollar. Let’s face it, it’s much more comfortable to edit a document using Word, instead of doing the same thing in an internet browser.

Having a simple version of Office 2012 does not mean that we would be tempted to forget about the online services. No, that wouldn’t be possible anymore. Let’s recall those times when we had had to work on the move and the only thing we could do in order to have the documents with us every time, was permanently synchronize the PC every time. Then we started to memory sticks but that didn’t seem a very smart idea because these things tend to be lost or provide us with some errors when we expect the less. Now we have clouding services through which our documents can be accessed from every were, and at any hour.
