Last week, Apple has completely blocked the SAM iPhone unlocking solution. In the same time we have received a lot of questions from our readers, which have not really understood what is going on.
First of all, you need to know that this tutorial is not valid anymore. My personal recommendation is to forget about these tutorials as nobody will be able to use the SAM unlock procedure on his/ her iPhone anymore. At least for the moment…
Another important thing about the SAM unlock is that it is not able to unlock any new devices. Those on which this procedure has already been applied will be working without any issues.
In the above mentioned tutorial we have shown you how to save the unlock ticket which you have applied on your iPhone. If you have done this, then that device can be unlocked again in the future.
In case you have already managed to unlock your iPhone, but the ticket has not been saved, then these are the steps which you need to follow:
- First of all download reds0w 0.9.10 beta 8 for Windows or Mac;
- Connect the iPhone to the PC on which you have installed the a/m tool;
- Head to the Extras menu and click on Even More option. You will find there a button which is called Backup.
- After clicking the above mentioned button, this utility will automatically save the unlock ticket.
It is useless to try to change the data in the Lockdown files because Apple has different information on their unlock servers. Also, there is no help coming from the ICCID change or from the SIM card. If you will change your current SIM, also the SAM unlock process will be lost, too. Therefore, we strongly suggest you to take a good care of this card.
The SAM unlock procedure is useless for those which have not managed to accomplish an unlock procedure yet. But for those which have already done the above mentioned process, it is still a very useful tool.
Unfortunately the block from Apple for this solution has brought back things as they were in the past. This means an iPhone 4 with iOS 5.x baseband cannot be unlocked anymore. iPhone 3GS can still be unlocked with iPad baseband and on iPhone 4S can be used a GEVEY Ultra S.
