Intype is an advanced text editor which I consider that offers some decent characteristics to its users. Therefore I decided to make a review for it.
Whether you edit simple text or you have some advanced tasks in HTML, C++, Java, Python, CSS, Perl, SQL, XHTML, PHP etc., you will find Intype as a reliable help. And that’s especially because, when performing some of the advanced tasks I was just talking about, you will find some sample codes inside Intype. They are designed to help you when you start working at new projects for developing applications because they take care of setting up the structure of the document, according to the programming language you are using. Some other interesting features are being provided in Intype, too: grammar and language check, a smart option which manages your projects and allows you o have a quick access to the ones that are still in working progress status or to the ones which are already finished, etc.
After installing Intype you will see that the main windows provides you with the following menus: File, Edit, Search, Project, View, Text, Bundles and Help. As you can see this covers the big majority of the menus which are being offered in this kind of advanced text editors. On the left side, you are provided with a menu which will let you access your old projects or you can quickly create one right from here. Intype has been built using an MDI interface, therefore, it is optimized for working with more than one project at once. Another useful feature you will find in Intype is the screen which can be found below the window which displays your text and which has the role of pointing out the errors that your text contains.
The Text menu in Intype gives you some options which will allow you to instantly modify the text look: you can quickly turn it from lowercase to uppercase and vice versa, you can capitalize the text, hyphenize it, etc. You have also the possibility to move lines up and down or to ask Intype to highlight those lines which are double posted.
The panel which is responsible for displaying and organizing your projects can be activated by accessing the View menu and click on Toggle Sidebar.
Intype comes with an advanced search function which will allow you to find different words and phrases in the current document which you are editing or in your other documents which are being managed by this application. Also you have the option to replace words or phrases in your documents. The possibility of replacing different terms in just some selected parts of your documents is wonderful. Intype search function can be found in the Search menu, obviously.
Here there are some other programming languages which Intype supports and which I did not mention in the beginning of this review: Goovy, Rails, Ruby, textile, YAML, JSON etc. As you can see this application offers support for a very large range of languages which makes it perfect for developers that are working on different platforms when creating their applications. If you will personally write a code structure, you can save it with Intype in its Bundles menu. IF you need to declare a class in java, then you just have to go to the java Bundles and click on Class. Your Java code declaration will be saved. Similarly, you will be able to put some CSS classes in a stylesheet: head, body, meta tile, tags or insert some PHP scripts in a PHP file etc.
