Bing Desktop (download link provided below) will change your wallpaper daily and it will also provide you with a search bar.
Together with Windows Vista, we have been introduced with the option to have daily changed wallpapers. Many people have found this feature as being and excellent idea for decorating their desktops with new wallpapers on a daily basis.
Therefore, many applications have been released since then, and they all have the same scope, even if the images provided as wallpapers are better or worse: to provide a fresh new look to your Windows desktop, daily.
Another aspect of the article that I am writing today refers to the fact that the same daily wallpaper changing strategy has been adopted by the Microsoft search engine, Bing. You all know that, on the Bing homepage, each day a new wallpaper is being displayed.
Therefore, Microsoft has decided to present us the beta app of the Bing Desktop. It will offer a new wallpaper every day and a search bar which will be separated from the one in your browser. Initially the Bing Desktop application has been designed for Windows 7 but it will also come on Windows 8, too.
It is in fact a hybrid because Bing Desktop combines the desktop manager functionality with the search bar option. IT doesn’t offer more than that but it has an important role, too: your search results will be opened in the browser that you will set as default in your Windows 8 system, and not in specifically in Internet Explorer.
In order to set Bing Desktop to change your wallpaper daily, make sure that during its installation process you check the option which will enable this action, too.
In conclusion, Bing Desktop proves to be a very useful tool, if we consider its search bar functionality. For the moment, this application works only in Windows 7 and Windows 8 Consumer Preview and its final version will, most probably, come together with the complete OS, too.
