Who has never heard of YouTube? Many of us have never heard of any other video streaming service but YouTube. There are many competitors out there, still, Google’s little brother remains number 1. Whether you’re traveling by bus, metro or car, whether you are at work or chilling at home, we’re sure you enjoy some video browsing via YouTube, and now we have the perfect tool for you: YouTube Preview.
YouTube Preview is a Chrome extension that helps you preview videos before clicking on them and let’s you decide if you want to watch them or not. Sometimes the video is so bad that you don’t even want to add another view to the views counter. The total selection of videos is incredible, but many of them are not worth waiting not even a second of your life watching. With this cool extension you can faster browse through videos and be productive. Thinking of it, I think that you boss will like it too.
YouTube Preview really does two things:
- creates a small previewing window when you hover over a suggested video by YouTube. Here comes the fun part. While with the mouse over the preview window, the video runs in normal speed (X1.0), but when you move the mouse and place it over the suggested video thumbnail, it plays faster, at x1.4 speed. Another interesting feature is that your actual video plays when YouTube Preview loads the previewing window, but automatically pauses when the preview plays. This is a perfect feature as you don’t have to hit pause over and over again.
- displays useful statistics about the actual video that you are watching, to be more exact, “Total reactions per 100 views”. You can find this number right below the likes/dislikes bar. If you hover over it, you’ll get a nice pie chart, presenting the source of the positive reactions. It can be either YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter. The YouTube and Facebook stats are split into different categories so that you’ll see how many were from comments and how many from likes.
We really encourage you to download YouTube Preview, intsall it to your Chrome browser, test it and let us knwo what you think!
