Google applications like Launcher, Calendar and Messaging have not been so great in the past. For example, if you were to be using a similar 3rd party app for Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread on your Galaxy S2, you would have been happier than taking advantage of the standard above mentioned applications from Google. However, things have changed and Android 4.0 ICS brings some really nice and useful versions of the a/m apps.
Therefore, many of our readers are thinking of installing the default Android 4.0 Launcher, Calendar and Messaging applications in their phones. The XDA community has always been a step in front, and a user from there has provided a tutorial on how to install these applications on a smartphone using Android 4.0 ICS.
But these Android 4.0 applications are not just restricted to Galaxy S2. You could as well try to install them on other smartphones. However, you have to keep in mind that these applications are not going to work on other operating system than Ice Cream Sandwich.
So, download the official Google Android 4.0 Launcher, Calendar and Messaging applications, by following the links we provided here. If you prefer another way of download, you can access the XDA Thread on which you will also find some useful information and opinions from users which have already installed those applications.
Google has promised that some other official Android 4.0 applications will be released soon, so prepare to install other APK files in your smartphones.
Therefore, if you don’t really like the stock apps which the manufacturer of your Android device has fitted in your smartphone, or if you just consider that the official Google Calendar, Launcher and Messaging applications are way better feel free to download and install them in your device. After testing them, we would appreciate if you return here and express your opinions on these Google official applications.
