HP Will Merge Its Printing And Personal Computers Divisions

Hewlett Packard  will merge the printing and personal computers businesses, two of its largest divisions, at a time when its chief executive, Meg Whitman, tries to promote the growth of the technology company. The new unit, with annual sales of 65,350 million, will generate about half the percentage of the company’s revenue and will be led by the head of the PC division, Todd Bradley, the company said in a statement Wednesday. The company plans to consolidate other functions too, such as marketing and communications across the business to promote a stronger brand and improve efficiency.
