Samsung will release an Windows Phone 8 Apollo powered handset.

The Taiwan branch of Samsung Co. has declared that they will release a new Windows Phone on the market this year. Surprisingly, they were not talking about using a Windows Phone 7.5 Mango system on it but the new Windows Phone 8 Apollo.

The new Samsung handset is set to come in October 2012. Using the future Windows Phone 8 Apollo, the new smartphone should compete with the already announced Lumia series from Nokia.

Windows Vista will not receive any regular support from Microsoft. The users, however, will benefit from an Extended Support Program.

Microsoft drops down Vista support. Most of the users of this operating system will not receive updates anymore. The “Extended Support” program continues until 2017, but in this period the Redmond based company will be offering rare security updates and paid updates.
