The Battlefield 3 beta will be launched to the wide public on the 29th September and 2 days earlier, the 27th September, for those who have preordered Battlefield 3 or bought Medal of Honor.
As we all think, Operation Metro should be the map chosen for the Battlefield 3 beta. Besides that, DICE has indicated several times that they have worked to refine the map based on the feedback they got from the alpha version. Yet, Daniel Matros from DICE, replying to the Battlefield 3 forum users, leaves the impression that they could choose another map for the beta, dumping Operation Metro. He ends his comment with: “Need to check back with the dev team”.
The latest information is provided by an answer, again from Matros, released through Twitter, which seems to indicate the need for two GPUs to run Battlefield 3 at maximum detail level. This is a specification much higher than the recommended requirements, not yet official, but estimated by Eurogamer.net:
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
CPU: Quad Core CPU
Memory: 4GB RAM
Hard Drive: 20GB
GPU: compatible with DirectX 11 with 1024MB RAM (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 or ATI Radeon 6950)
