The first A5 iOS 5.1 device which suffered a jailbreak is an iPad 2.
i0n1c is one of the most known hackers from the jailbreak solutions developers community. It has published, on his Twitter account, several images in which we can see for the first time an iOS 5.1 running iPad 2. Obviously, the device has “suffered” a jailbreak.
This would be the first jailbreak solution which has been developed for an A5 iDevice: the iPad 2. Obviously, when we say the first jailbreak solution we are talking about iOS 5.1. This is nothing less but a good news because the iPhone 4S users could use this jailbreak process on their own device, too. We are almost sure that this solution is compatible with the latest Apple smartphone, too.
We are not being provided with any details regarding the fact that this jailbreak solution is tethered or untethered. You have to know that a tethered jailbreak would allow you to open your iPhone/ iPad by using another program which is loaded on a computer. An untethered solution would be able to start your iOS 5.1 device with a small application which is loaded in the phone’s memory.
We certainly hope that we will be provided with an untethered jailbreak for A5 devices because it would much more easier to start our Apple products which have been jailbroken. i0n1c also is informing about a potential jailbreak on the new iPad (3). However he doesn’t own yet the product.
As you can see in these images, Cydia looks like it is working on i0n1c’s iPad 2 tablet which is also running on iOS 5.1. For the beginning we have no other information about the new jailbreak solution for A5 chip iDevices. But as soon as we will get some new data, we will let you know asap.
As a big part of iDevices users are now running iOS 5.1 on A4 chip iPhone/ iPad we recommend you visiting these links and follow the steps in our tutorials. So, you can use the Redsn0w or Sn0wbreeze solutions.
